History of Gravatt

Many Years Here

A Special Place in the Woods

In 1947, St. Julian Cullum donated land to The Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina. This land would become Camp Gravatt, and two years later, in 1949, we hosted our first campers. In the 75 years since, Gravatt has hosted thousands of campers of all ages.

Gravatt has also grown substantially over the years, constructing and developing several indoor and outdoor spaces to host retreats, events and conferences for schools, church groups and businesses in South Carolina and beyond.
