Sharpen Your Outdoor Skills

Are you ready for a summertime adventure? Then sign up for the Gravatt Explorers as we embark into the wild! This program is open campers who are rising 10th graders through rising college freshmen. Explorer Sessions will run concurrent with our Junior High 1 and Junior High 2 summer camp sessions. Gravatt Explorers will head off for two exciting outdoor excursions: a backpacking trip to Shining Rock Wilderness Area in Pisgah National Forest located near Brevard, NC, and a canoe trip down the Broad River in Columbia to make camp at Congaree National Park! This program is fully accredited through the American Camping Association and is designed for lovers of the outdoors of all skill levels. We hope to see you this summer for an unforgettable session!

• Day 1: Registration, introduction to program

• Day 2: Skills and practice night at Camp Gravatt

• Day 3: Debrief trip, skills review

• Day 4: Depart, backpacking day 1

• Day 5: Backpacking day 2

• Day 6: Backpacking day 3, Return, debrief

• Day 7: Skills day

• Day 8: Depart, Canoeing day 1

• Day 9: Canoeing day 2, Return, debrief

• Day 10: Pick-up day

  When on Camp Gravatt property, you will be able to experience all your favorite camp activities like Ropes Course, tie-dye, and free swim!
